April Birthstone - The Diamond

The April birthstone of the Diamond is considered to be the birthstone for Aries (The sign of the Ram) and relate to those born between March 21 - April 20.  The word diamond is derived from the Greek word “adamas” meaning “invincible”, which is an appropriate way to describe those born in the month of April.  April babies are more likely to display strong leadership and have an assertive nature.  These Diamond-wearers are more likely to be extroverts.

Over the years, diamonds have been thought to be the, “King of all birthstones,” Ancient theories say that the diamond has magical power and were thought to be formed by lightning bolts, while other theories say that diamonds were the tears of god.  The Diamond symbolizes affection, strength, eternity and of course- everlasting love.  It is undoubtedly the most radiant and desired gemstone.  Although often used in engagement rings, it can be given also be given for romantic gifts. The properties of diamonds are clarity, balance and abundance.

Healing powers of a diamond go all the way back to the Middle Ages. The diamond was thought to have powers to cure any issues with the brain.  It is also believed that the diamond can also effect on one’s clarity and individual balance.  In addition, the diamond is said to help with the following:

• Alleviating pituitary gland issues
• Helps increase intellectual capacity
• Provides benefit for those fighting tuberculosis
